Explosion in Gaza: Hamas Claims Responsibility for Killing 16 Israeli Soldiers

The military wing of Hamas, known as the Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, recently announced significant casualties among Israeli forces in the northern and central regions of Gaza.

In a recent development, the Kassam Brigades, the military arm of Hamas, claimed responsibility for a targeted missile strike on an Israeli special forces unit stationed in Gaza’s central area, specifically in Juhor ad-Dik. The attack resulted in casualties and injuries among the Israeli soldiers, as reported on the Kassam Brigades’ Telegram channel.

A notable Israeli expert suggests that Hamas has gained a strategic advantage against Israel, particularly in the southern Gaza Strip. In the same region where Israeli infantry entered, an anti-personnel mine was allegedly deployed, leading to an explosion that claimed the lives of six Israeli soldiers and left several others wounded.

The statement from the Kassam Brigades also brought attention to another incident in the El-Kasasib neighborhood within the Cibaliya Refugee Camp in the northern Gaza Strip. In this instance, sharpshooters targeted three Israeli soldiers, including a captain.

Adding to the intensifying conflict, it was reported that a “Merkava” tank in El-Kasasib neighborhood was successfully hit by “Yasin-105” rockets. Additionally, in the Cibaliya al-Beled area, two “Merkava” tanks were reportedly struck.

As tensions rise, the Israeli military is actively attempting to expand its ground invasion in the Gaza Strip. In the last 24 hours alone, the Israeli military has confirmed the loss of 14 soldiers, underscoring the gravity and complexity of the situation on the ground. The evolving dynamics in Gaza continue to draw international attention as the conflict shows no signs of abating.
